    NEW ORLEANS (BP) -- Trustees of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary joined with the rest of the seminary community in the celebration of the seminary's first 100 years during their fall meeting Oct. 2-4.

    Trustees voted last spring to reschedule the fall meeting so it could be held during the launch of the centennial celebration Oct. 3.   • TRUSTEES: Capital campaign tops SEBTS fall meeting agenda

    WAKE FOREST, N.C. (BP) -- During their Oct. 15-17 meetings, both trustees and supporters of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary were updated on institutional developments -- namely the seminary's capital campaign being launched in the spring of 2018 to enhance the on-campus experience by adding a welcome center and dining hall.

    The campaign is a four-year plan to raise $20.5 million. In addition to these new buildings, plans include renovations for Stealey Hall and the library as well as the addition of a campus center as a primary location for the college. Read More

    LOUISVILLE, Ky. (BP) -- Southern Baptist Theological Seminary trustees unanimously approved a recommendation to adopt The Nashville Statement as an official part of the school's confessional documents Monday (Oct. 9) during its fall meeting.

    MONTREAL, Quebec, Canada (BP) -- North American Mission Board trustees gathered Oct. 2-4 in Montreal to hear reports of the progress new church plants are making there and to witness the reality of the deep lostness that is believed to make this Canadian city the least-reached part of North America.

    "It is a bit hostile to the Gospel," Gerry Taillion, executive director of the Canadian National Baptist Convention, told NAMB trustees. "But slowly and surely, we will win them."

    Taillon credited his convention's partnership with Southern Baptists as a key element to the growth Montreal and all of Canada has recently seen in Kingdom work. Read More

    RIDGECREST, N.C. (BP) -- International Mission Board trustees gathered at Ridgecrest Conference Center Sept. 11-13 to celebrate more than 25,000 years of service by emeritus missionaries while approving the appointment of 51 new personnel to take the Gospel to unreached people and places.

    NASHVILLE (BP) -- The Southern Baptist Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission is committed to equipping churches to produce justice, holiness and reconciliation with the Gospel of Jesus, Russell Moore told the entity's trustees at their annual board meeting.

    Moore, the ERLC's president, made his comments during a report to the ERLC board during its Aug. 23-24 meeting at Nashville's Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center. Trustees approved recipients of two annual awards, adopted a slight budget increase, elected new officers and received reports on the commission's work in the last year.
