    COUSHATTA, La. -- The Cooperative Program came up during last month's meeting of the missions committee at Fairview Baptist Church in Coushatta.

    The group was discussing a parachurch sports ministry Fairview Coushatta has financially assisted for several years.     CLEARWATER, Fla. (BP) -- Messengers attending the 2016 Florida Baptist State Convention elected Brandon pastor Stephen Rummage as president and approved a $30 million Cooperative Program budget for 2017 that continues to send 51 percent to the Southern Baptist Convention while retaining 49 percent for missions and ministries in the state.

    FARMERSVILLE, Texas (BP) -- Every day since devastating tornadoes touched down in rural communities northeast of Dallas this past December, First Baptist Church of Farmersville has been helping people recover.

    Three or four times annually the last four years, the Texas church has ministered to an unreached people group in Senegal, West Africa. In January, members worked with an Iowa church in ministering to a nearby people group. Read More
