BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (BP) — Southern Baptists’ six seminaries will host alumni and friends for fellowship and updates in conjunction with the Southern Baptist Convention’s June 11-12 annual meeting in Birmingham, Ala.

A list of the seminaries’ plans follows:

GATEWAY — Gateway Seminary will continue its 75th anniversary celebration at its annual alumni and friends luncheon after the morning session of the SBC annual meeting on Wednesday, June 12. The event will take place on Level 3, Room Forum J in the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex. President Jeff Iorg will report on the seminary’s reaccreditation by the Western Association of Senior Colleges and Universities Commission and progress by Gateway Online. In addition, the seminary’s distinguished alumni award winners will be presented. Tickets are $10 each. Seating is limited and can be reserved at www.gs.edu/sbc19.

MIDWESTERN –- Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and Spurgeon College will welcome alumni and friends to its annual luncheon on Wednesday June 12, from noon-1:30 p.m. in the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex South Exhibit Hall on Level 1. During the luncheon, Midwestern President Jason K. Allen will report on what God is doing in and through the seminary and college, including updates on academic and student life endeavors, as well as the announcement of this year’s alumnus of the year. This year Allen also will host a panel discussing “The Unsaved Christian: Reaching Cultural Christianity with the Gospel” with Micah Fries and Dean Inserra. Early bird tickets are $15 through Friday, June 8. In addition to its alumni and friends luncheon, Midwestern will host a For the Church luncheon on Tuesday, June 11. NEW ORLEANS — New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary’s alumni and friends banquet will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, in the Sheraton Birmingham Ballroom – Level 1. The banquet will honor the decades of faithful service by the Drs. Chuck and Rhonda Kelley at NOBTS as they move toward retirement in July. Tickets are $25 per person if purchased by midnight Monday, June 3 (the last day of online sales). After June 3, tickets are available for $30. To purchase a ticket before the convention, send a check payable to NOBTS to New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, Attn: Alumni Relations, 3939 Gentilly Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70126. Or, tickets are available online at www.nobts.edu. Tickets will not be mailed; all luncheon tickets may be picked up at the NOBTS booth in the SBC Exhibit Hall. Tickets also may be purchased during the convention at the exhibit booth for $30.

SOUTHEASTERN — Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary will host its alumni and friends luncheon on Wednesday, June 12, following the morning session of the SBC annual meeting. Attendees will hear Great Commission stories from Southeastern students and graduates and share in a celebration of Danny Akin’s 15th anniversary as the seminary’s president. The luncheon, in the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex South Meeting Rooms (Ballrooms D/E/F/J), will entail worship led by two-time SEBTS graduate Josh Via and an alumni collective along with a message from Akin. SOUTHERN — Southern Baptist Theological Seminary will welcome alumni and friends for its annual luncheon at noon Wednesday, June 12, in the Birmingham Ballroom of the Sheraton Hotel after the annual meeting’s morning session. The luncheon, to include an annual update from President R. Albert Mohler Jr., will be a time of fellowship for alumni and friends from around the world and a celebration of God’s faithfulness to the seminary. Tickets are available for purchase at $25 on Southern’s website at sbts.edu/sbc and at the seminary’s booth in the SBC Exhibit Hall.

SOUTHWESTERN — Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary’s national alumni and friends luncheon on Wednesday, June 12, will be in the Sheraton Hotel’s Birmingham Ballroom I, V, IX, Level 1 following the morning session of the annual meeting. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear a report from newly-elected Southwestern President Adam W. Greenway, who will also present the seminary’s 2019 distinguished alumnus awards. Tickets may be purchased for $25 per person or $200 per table online at swbts.edu/sbclunch. Tickets also will be available during the SBC annual meeting at Southwestern’s booth in the Exhibit Hall.
