GuideStone to offer retirement, wellness help

COLUMBUS, Ohio (BP) — GuideStone Financial Resources will again offer its Wellness Center during the Southern Baptist Convention annual meeting. Messengers can visit the exhibit hall in Columbus, Ohio, to take advantage of the Wellness Center’s free services, valued at up to $150.

The wellness screening offers blood-based screenings; for best results, fast at least the previous 12 hours. Participants will receive a personalized report from physicians and health care professionals suitable to take to their family doctors. GuideStone’s booth will also offer retirement and insurance consultations during the SBC annual meeting and Pastors’ Conference June 15–17.

GuideStone will offer three special seminars. The “Retirement Income Solutions” seminar is designed for participants in GuideStone’s retirement plans who are within five years of their intended retirement date and offers information on retirement income options. “Compensation Planning for Smaller Churches” offers insights on how smaller churches can make the most of limited budgets while providing adequately for their pastors’ needs. A third seminar, “Health Care Reform Impacts Your Church, Too,” will discuss new reporting requirements, new changes to premium reimbursement arrangements, penalties for non-compliance and additional regulations affecting churches and ministries of all sizes.

All seminars are free, but as space is limited, preregistration is recommended. Visit GuideStone.org/SBC2015 after May 1 to register. Participants also can download a health questionnaire on the website and take it to the Wellness Center.

Mission:Dignity materials for Mission:Dignity Sunday can be ordered by visiting the GuideStone booth in the exhibit hall. Mission:Dignity Sunday is June 28 and will be recognized in Southern Baptist churches throughout the country; however, materials are undated to allow churches to highlight Mission:Dignity at a time of the church’s choosing. For more details on Mission:Dignity, which provides financial support for retired Southern Baptist pastors and their widows in critical need, visit missiondignitysbc.org/.

GuideStone will give away one iPad mini. Details on that registration will be on the Mission:Dignity brochure in messengers’ bags. Additionally, while supplies last, pastors who stop by the GuideStone booth also can pick up a free copy of “Nelson’s Annual Preacher’s Sourcebook, Volume 3” edited by GuideStone President O.S. Hawkins.

The first 250 people who stop by the GuideStone Wellness Center or order materials at the Mission:Dignity table at the GuideStone booth will receive copies of Hawkins’ most recent book, “The Jesus Code: 52 Scripture Questions Every Believer Should Answer.”
