Christian artists form all-star choir in response to Sept. 11
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (BP)--Michael W. Smith will be the host of a one-hour radio special that features gospel music artists responding to the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks from a spiritual perspective.
Amy Grant, CeCe Winans, Steven Curtis Chapman, Phil Keaggy and Ginny Owens will join Smith Dec. 18 in a living-room style conversation about life after the attacks. The artists will also perform acoustic versions of their music.
The nationwide radio special, sponsored by the Gospel Music Association, is scheduled to air in January. Distribution will be provided by Salem Communications.
It will feature a new recording inspired by the attacks. Written by Grammy winner Wayne Kirkpatrick and Dove Award recipient Mark Heimermann, "In God We Trust" will be recorded by at least 35 gospel artists -- including dcTalk, Point of Grace and Audio Adrenaline -- on Sept. 18 at Belmont University's Ocean Way Studio.
